How far has the vegan movement come, what have we learned from decades of advocacy, and what will it take to create a kinder world?
Join Jewish Vegan Life, the Veg Society of DC, and the Farm Animal Rights Movement (FARM) for a special World Vegan Day dinner featuring Dr. Alex Hershaft.
Dr. Alex Hershaft
A Holocaust survivor, Dr. Hershaft founded FARM in 1981 and became a pioneer of the American animal rights movement. A vegan for close to half a century, he has dedicated his life to ending violence and oppression toward animals.
Dr. Hershaft will reflect on his decades of activism, the lessons learned from 50 years of advocacy, and how we can make the movement more effective. We’ll also explore the state of the vegan movement today, including progress in plant based food innovation, public awareness, animal advocacy, and policy. What has worked? Where do we still fall short? And what should we do next?
Enjoy a vegan meal, connect with others who care about animals, and join a meaningful conversation about the future of the movement.
