Kelly was born in the U.K., raised in Australia, lived over a decade in Jerusalem working as an editor at the Jerusalem Post, and now resides in Los Angeles. She has led a peripatetic career as an award-winning journalist and editor in mainstream and Jewish publications, including as managing editor of the Los Angeles Jewish Journal.
Kelly decided to become a vegetarian at the age of four when someone inadvertently took her to see Bambi. Her journey to veganism began several years ago. Born with hereditary polycystic kidney disease (PKD), Kelly underwent a strict diet as her disease progressed that required her to cut out all but the smallest amounts of protein. She underwent a successful kidney transplant on March 29, 2022, and hasnβt looked back since.
A member of Los Angelesβ IKAR community and its Green Action Committee, Kelly is committed to making the world a more sustainable place and believes strongly in the Jewish values of Tikkun Olam and Tsar Baβale Chaim, and that just like Adam and Eve, we were designed to live a plant-based life.
She lives in Culver City, with her Golden Retriever, Posy.
