Rabbi Akiva Gersh is the Senior Rabbinic Educator at Jewish Vegan Life and has been working in the field of Jewish Education for over 25 years, teaching students of all ages both in Israel and the U.S. In 2020 he created “Vegan Rabbi”, a social media platform through which he shares traditional Jewish teachings that promote compassion for animals and support going vegan in our world today.

Rabbi Akiva is also a published author, musician and, more recently, a matchmaker for Jewish vegan and vegetarian singles.

Rabbi Akiva received his BA from Brown University, his MA from Yeshiva University and rabbinic ordination from Yeshivat Sulam Yaakov in Jerusalem. Akiva lives in Pardes Hanna, Israel with his wife Tamar and their four children.
