Step 1

Rinse and drain chickpeas well and let sit 2–3 minutes.

Step 2

Transfer to bowl and mash with potato masher until mostly broken down with slight texture.

Step 3

Add celery and carrots and mix.

Step 4

Add lemon juice, paprika, mustard, relish, kelp, and spices. Mix well.

Step 5

Add vegan mayo and mix with a gloved hand until creamy. Do not overmix.
